With several years of East of Scotland experience behind him, 'Hilly' arrived in Innerleithen at the start of the 2009-10 season with a big reputation and did nothing to disappoint those who looked for him to be Vale's anchor man in midfield. Solid and dependable in the middle of the park, many goals originate from him breaking up opposition play and picking out one of his team mates. Can also get forward and chip in with the occasional strike himself.
