A central defender with over 16 years of Scottish League experience behind him, Robbie arrived at Victoria Park in the summer of 2010 as a player/coach. As a young player with Hearts, he was loaned out to Edinburgh United, Cowdenbeath and Forfar Athletic before joining Forfar permanently in July 2000. Four seasons later, he moved to Berwick Rangers where he made over a hundred appearances. Robbie took over the reigns as Vale manager following the departure of Stewart Churchill in August 2010 and has said that he will concentrate on management duties, only playing when the need arises.
